Job Description:
Seymour Staffing is seeking a Machinist to join the team at our client’s manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD . Successful applicants will be able to repair all types of industrial process machinery some of which are electric motors to 30,000 HP, speed reducers, pumps, compressors, fans, agitators, blenders, press parts, and process rollers. Also, be able to maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, and maintain equipment and supplies.
Job Requirements:
- Work with machine tools such as lathes (turning from 1” to 144” diameter, 1” to 30’ long)
- Work with mills (milling from 1” to 120” x 84”)
- Work with machine tools for drilling, broaching, key-seating, grinding, surfacing grinding, sawing, and shearing
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Strong ability to work with decimals and converting fractions to decimal in both imperial and metric
- Proficient in using all measurement tools including all types of micrometers, calipers, and indicators to obtain the most accurate measurements
- Able to read and understand drawings
- Able to produce sketches, inspection reports, and material usage reports
- Possess commensurate knowledge of cutting tolls and their application, and knowledge of materials and how to process them
- Be able to use overhead cranes
- Demonstrates conceptual skills
- Ability to implement process improvement
- Demonstrates good verbal communication
- Applies functional and technical skills
- Ability to implement controls and instrumentation
- Knowledge of supply management
- Ability to implement tooling
- Shows coordination with all systems
- Ability to work with inventory control
- Demonstrates good judgment
Tool Requirements (company will assist employee to obtain tooling as needed)
- Steel toe boots
- Micrometers (1-3)
- Scales
- Indicators
- Indicator stands
- Calipers
- Thread gages/measuring wires
- All machine tooling, large hand tools, hydraulics, fixturing, grinders, polishers, large measuring tools, and safety equipment will be furnished by the company
